Voyage to Orangia

Voyage to Orangia is a series of short movies, that Mat, Greg, and I have filmed on Mat's camcorder. It is currently incomplete. The first episode that we did featured Greg playing a woman, as our three characters journeyed to the mysterious planet of Orangia. This is where they discovered the evil creatures known as "Pillow People"(portrayed by one of us with a pillow on our head.). We eventually destroy the pillow people factory, and escape Orangia, and that is the end of part one.

Part two begins with the space ship (The Technology Way) returning to Earth. Three main characters have been killed by a pillow person, who hid on the ship, before it returned to Earth. Now th Pillow Person has begun to multiply and is taking over America. Now the three twins of the main character from the first episode, must save America, which they do in some way or another.

Both epidsodes have a scene, where one actor is replaced mid-scene by another, as the same character. Greg plays a woman in the first one, and a gay guy in the second. We may shoot the next one when Greg comes back from college in a few weeks. We plan on shotting five episodes, each with new main characters.

Voyage To Orangia—From Mat’s Point of View:

As Zack stated earlier, so far Zack, Greg, and I have filmed two of out the five movies in the Orangian Saga. Each one had a separate title, the first one being Voyage to Orangia. Doing the remaining three movies will be a bit of a problem because A) The scripts are on a computer in a format for MS WORKS 3.0—and I lost the CD that contained the software! This format is incompatible with other software that I have! And B) Greg recently told me he can’t do the girl voice anymore.

Anyway, Zack told you about the first two movies in the Orangian Saga—I am going to tell you about the other three.

Part Three was the weakest, called The Search for Wally. If I remember correctly, these characters were clones with the same personalities and jobs as the characters from Part Two, Revenge of the Pillow People. The plot took place on Orangia, like the first film. Now that the Pillow People were killed from the second movie, Orangia is colonized into a planet where people can live on. Wally goes missing, prompting the other two heroes to search for him. The main plot twist involves the town mayor not being what he seems. We also wanted this to be done as an improved musical. The script for Part Three really sucked, so maybe we should make it up as we go along.

Part Four picks up where Part Three left off—they find a portal in a closet and hear Wally’s voice call out for them. The two heroes step through the portal to enter an alternate dimension where Wally is a girl. Trouble begins when evil twins of the three main characters fight each other. The good guys turn out all right in the end, with an odd twist.

Part Five was really cool—The Pillow People Slave Revolution. The remaining Pillow People on Orangia are put in a camp where they are forced to work for the humans. The plot is obviously inspired by Conquest for the Planet of the Apes. The ending is pretty neat, inspired by Beneath the Planet of the Apes.

Originally there was going to be a Part Six involving all the characters from all the movies, but after writing three pages of it, I realized it wasn’t going to work.

The Improv Movie:

One thing Zack failed to mention was a movie we filmed one long day where we improvised the entire thing. Its title was It’s My Party and I’ll Die If I Want To. It started out OK, but ended up with a lot of really long fight scenes.

The Pillow People Music Video:

After filming Part Two of the Orangian Saga, we shot a brief Pillow People music video. I think the lyrics were “Pillow People, Yeah!! Pillow People, Yeah!” [e.n. - not one of our proudest moments.]
